Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ for Clarke Culinary Photography
1. What types of food & beverage photography do you specialize in?
I specialize in high-end commercial food and drink photography — plated dishes, breads, desserts, cocktails — with an eye for texture, light, and brand style. (Your “Plated / Breads / Cocktails / Desserts” portfolio categories reflect this.)
2. Where are you based and do you travel?
I’m based in West Palm Beach, Florida . I’m available to come on-site to restaurants, bakeries, bars, or studios in the region (and travel further upon request).
3. What’s the process for booking a shoot?
• Reach out via the Contact page with your project scope (menu items, drink list, location, usage).
• I’ll send a creative brief and proposal including scope, deliverables, licensing, timeline.
• Upon approval + deposit, we schedule shoot date, plan styling/props, and prep logistics.
4. What does a typical shoot include?
It includes the photography session (on-location or in-studio), professional lighting/styling, retouching/editing of selected images, and delivery of final high-res files ready for print/web.
5. How long does it take to receive final images?
Typical turnaround is 5 business days after the shoot . Rush options may be available for an additional fee.
6. What usage/licensing rights are included?
The pricing covers usage for your website, menus, social media, and print collateral (within agreed scope). Wider commercial usage (e.g., national ad campaign) may require extended licensing.
7. Do you provide food styling or bring props?
Yes—I bring lighting, backgrounds/props relevant to the shoot. If you have specific branded tabletop or dishes you’d like used, we can incorporate them.
8. What should I prepare before the shoot?
• Clean, finished dishes ready for photography.
• Menu list or shot list in advance so we maximise efficiency.
• Any brand assets (logo, packaging, brand colours) you’d like included.
• If on-location: space prepared for lighting/photo setup, access to power, etc.
9. How many photos will I receive and in what formats?
You will receive a set number of edited high-resolution JPG (and optionally TIFF) files (you specify number) sized for web- and print-use. Additional images or custom sizes are available.
10. What is your pricing / how do I get a quote?
Because every project is different (number of items, location, styling requirements, deliverables, usage), I issue custom quotes. Contact me with your project details and I’ll provide a proposal.
11. Do you shoot products (packaged goods) as well as plated food?
Yes—I can photograph packaged goods, beverages, and other culinary-product items in addition to plated dishes, with appropriate lighting, surfaces and brand context.
12. What happens if the shoot runs longer or more items are added?
We’ll aim to capture everything on the agreed schedule. If additional items/styles are requested beyond the brief, I’ll provide an add-on proposal or hourly rate for the extra time.
13. Can I use the images for marketing and social media?
Absolutely. The standard license covers website, social media, print material. If you anticipate commercial/advertising usage (e.g., paid ads, large-scale campaigns), let me know so we can structure licensing accordingly.
14. How do we maintain consistency across ongoing shoot sessions?
I keep notes on lighting, surfaces, backgrounds and brand palettes. For recurring clients I ensure the visual look remains consistent (or evolves intentionally) to strengthen your brand.
15. How do we get started?
Send a message via the Contact form (include your business name, project scope, timeline, location). I’ll respond with availability, estimate, and next steps.
